FAQ

Common questions.

What counts as a paid entry?

Any TournamentEntry row with status=CONFIRMED + total > $0. Refunded entries don't count toward your platform fee. Free tournaments don't generate platform fees at all.

Do I have to use Stripe?

No. Players can pay with HmBr Cash (their wallet balance), Points (50% cap), or in-person cash at the venue. Stripe Connect is only required for card payments.

What happens to player data?

Player profiles live with the player, not the organizer. You see entries + payment status for your tournaments only. Player PERA is global — they bring it with them to every event.

Can I run private/invite-only tournaments?

Yes. Set isPublic=false in the tournament settings and only people with the direct URL can enter. Useful for invitational events, league nights, or company tournaments.

What's the contract term?

None. Starter is pay-as-you-go (no contract). Series is month-to-month. Cancel anytime — your tournament data exports as CSV.
