Who we are

hmbropen.com is operated by HmBr Sports. For any question about this policy or the data described in it, write to contact@hmbrsports.com.

What this site does not do

Worth stating plainly, because it removes most of the usual concerns:

• No advertising, ad networks, or ad tracking.
• No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no heatmaps, no session recording, and nothing that follows you to other websites.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of your personal data with anyone for their own purposes.

Counting page views

We count page views to see which pages are read and roughly where in the world our visitors are. It is deliberately the least invasive option available to us:

• No cookies. Nothing is stored on your device for this.
• No IP address is kept. Visits are counted using a short-lived hash derived from the request, discarded after 24 hours, so there is no lasting identifier for you.
• No cross-site tracking. It cannot follow you to other sites or reconstruct your activity elsewhere.
• We see aggregate counts only — country, page, device type, browser, referring site. We cannot see who you are.

Because a URL can itself contain private information, URLs are stripped before anything is sent: sign-in pages are never reported, and private links such as invitations have their secret part removed first.

Signing in

Sign-in is by magic link: you enter an email address and we email you a one-time link. There is no password to store. Authentication is handled by Supabase, which holds your email address and session timestamps on our behalf.

A session cookie keeps you signed in. It is required for the site to recognise you and cannot be disabled while you remain signed in.

One HmBr account works across our sites, but signing up on one does not enrol you in another — per-site membership is always opt-in.

What you send us

When you use the forms on this site we receive:

• Player name, and the category and format you enter — singles, doubles, age group, seeding information.
• A phone number, where you give one, so an organiser can reach you about scheduling on the day.
• Which sessions or squads you sign up for.
• Your match results and scores, which become part of the draw and of your record.
• Which payment method you select for an entry. The payment itself is handled by the processor; we do not store card numbers.

We use it to answer you and to provide what you asked for, and for nothing else.

Draws and results are public

A tournament only works if people can see who is playing whom. Entry lists, draws, seedings, live scores and final results are published — that is the point of the site rather than an incidental use of your data.

So assume that your name, your category, your seeding and your results are visible to anyone, and are likely to be indexed by search engines.

What is not published: your phone number, your email address, and your payment details.

Junior players

Age-group events mean the published draw can carry a child's name and age category. We keep that to the minimum a draw actually needs — name and category — and we do not publish a junior player's contact details, photograph, school or address.

Entries for a player under 18 should be made by a parent or guardian, and the contact details on the entry should be theirs.

If you are a parent or guardian and you want your child's name shown differently in a draw, or removed after an event, write to us and we will sort it out.

Who else sees technical data

• Vercel hosts the site and processes requests, including your IP address, as part of serving pages.
• Supabase provides authentication and the database.
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces, so Google can see your IP address. No other Google service is used here.

These act as processors for us. We do not send them anything about you for their own purposes.

How long we keep things

Account records are kept until you ask us to delete them. Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Page-view counts are aggregate and are not tied to you at any point.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to how it is used. Write to contact@hmbrsports.com and we will respond. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Changes

If this site starts collecting something it does not collect today, this page will be updated before that change goes live, and the date at the top will change with it.
